Dropkick Murphys Cincinnati -

The last time Dropkick Murphys came through Cincinnati, OH, they played an intimate acoustic set in support of their album, This Machine Still Kills Fascists. It was a cool and unique way to see that band in a setting, unlike any other Dropkick show I had ever seen before. Fast forward a year and a half later to last night and the boys were back to kick off the St. Patrick’s Day season in Cincinnati. This time around, they were plugged back in singing loud and proud for all to hear!

As I said, it was very cool to see the band stripped down on the acoustic tour, but there is just something special about Dropkick Murphys when they are plugged in and raising a ruckus on stage. I have seen the band numerous times in the past, but the energy coming off the Andrew J. Brady stage this time around was next-level stuff. Led by frontman, Ken Casey, the boys in Dropkick Murphys seemed to be having an absolute blast during their performance. And the packed crowd was feeling the same way. Dropkick plowed their way through over 20 songs covering the span of their legendary discography, and they didn’t let off of the gas for one second during the show.

The energy coming off of the stage was reciprocated by the die-hard Dropkick Murphy fans in attendance. There was singing, dancing, crowd surfing, and all around fun going down inside of the Andrew J. Brady Center. One of the coolest things to see, other than concertgoers dressed in their Irish best, is the age range of the fans who turn out to see the band. Of course, you have those who have been coming out to see the band for over 20 years, but then you have members of a new generation experiencing the band for the first time. There are even parents who bring their kids along to experience the band as well. And the best part is that it is a safe space for everyone.
